Bosch FU6 Plus smart lock: dual-battery face recognition rated to 70°C, with tamper alerts and a 4.45-inch inside screen, for sun-facing Dubai villa doors.
The Bosch FU6 Plus is the dual-battery face recognition smart lock in this range we point most Dubai villa owners to. It runs on two lithium batteries, is rated to 70°C and warns you about tampering, so it copes with a sun-facing main door better than its siblings. Walk up within 40 to 90 cm and the lock matches your face, then you push or pull the handle. Bosch's datasheet puts a face match under one second and a fingerprint under 0.8 seconds. Codes, cards, the app and a mechanical key cover everyone else. It stores 20 faces plus 100 fingerprints, 100 codes and 100 cards. Inside, a 4.45-inch screen shows the doorstep. Visitors can call your phone through the remote two-way intercom, and you can let them in from anywhere. The lock also flags tampering, repeated wrong entries and low battery. Power is a 4200mAh main battery with a 2250mAh second cell, which gives more runway in summer, when heat drains lithium faster. There is an emergency charging port too. The FU6 Plus brings its own mechanical mortise lock body and suits doors 40 to 100 mm thick. We measure your existing pocket first, since most Dubai doors use a European mortise. Two cautions. The UAE distributor lists a 1080p camera with a 160° view, while Bosch's own sheet says 720p at 120°, so we confirm the camera before you order. Voice control through Alexa or Google is not confirmed either.

This is the model we suggest for a villa door that catches the sun after lunch. Its 70°C rating gives real headroom over the 60°C siblings, and the second battery cell keeps the lock running longer when heat cuts lithium capacity in July and August. Bosch also reports a 72-hour salt spray test, which matters near the coast on the Palm, in Dubai Marina or along Jumeirah. Inside a tower it works just as well, but building management must sign off any change to a fire-rated entrance door, and tenants need the landlord's written consent before the door is drilled for the panels. Keep the old lock. The tamper and low-battery warnings suit holiday homes and owners who travel in summer. During a DEWA outage the lock keeps opening on battery, and the app and intercom resume once the router is back. Support comes from the official UAE distributor.
Bosch in the UAE. Bosch-branded digital locks come from Bosch's smart-lock business in China, not from Bosch's appliance or power-tool divisions. In the UAE they are handled by an official distributor and sold through specialist retail and Amazon.ae, and warranty support runs through that distributor rather than a Bosch-run service centre. Heat ratings vary by model: the lever locks are rated to 55°C, so we recommend them for shaded or covered doors, while several of the face-recognition models are rated higher.
