Lenovo A1 Oxhead Lock Set: face recognition access control with an electric rim lock, for framed staff doors, back entrances and shaded villa gates in Dubai.
The Lenovo A1 Oxhead Lock Set is a face recognition access control kit with an electric rim lock, for a framed door or gate in Dubai where you want staff, drivers or contractors to come in by face rather than by key. It suits a staff entrance, an aluminium-framed office door, a back-of-house door or a shaded villa side gate. The name comes from the lock: "oxhead" is a trade translation of the Chinese term for an electric rim lock with a rounded, ox-head shaped housing. That lock (158 x 90 x 45mm) is screwed to the inside of the door leaf, and a thin 125mm catch plate goes on the frame. The kit also includes a face terminal for the wall outside, a wireless lock controller and an indoor wireless doorbell switch that doubles as an inside release. The catalogue photo shows a small antenna on the lock, which suggests it talks to the controller by radio, and we confirm wiring and power before quoting. There are 600 slots each for faces, PIN codes and cards, NFC is accepted, and 50,000 entries are logged. Access time groups let a gardener in only on set days, and door hold open leaves a staff door free during a busy shift. Infrared liveness detection rejects photos. The big limit is heat. The terminal is rated only to 55°C, so on a villa gate it needs a canopy, a hood or a north-facing wall, never a west-facing pillar in full sun. Do not confuse it with the Lenovo A1 home lever lock that resellers in Singapore and Malaysia sell; the two share a name only.

In Dubai villas, the side gate is where the household staff, the driver, the pool man and the gardener come and go, and keys for it multiply and vanish. A face terminal with time groups fixes that, and the entry log shows who came when. On commercial sites the same kit suits a staff door at a restaurant, a warehouse office or a clinic's back entrance. The catch is the climate. The terminal is rated to 55°C, and a gate pillar facing west in July gets hotter than that, so we only recommend it where the terminal can sit in real shade or under a hood. Metal gates also need a flat, solid area on the inside of the leaf for the rim lock. In a community with an owners' association, check whether exterior changes need approval. We test signal at the gate and confirm power for the lock before quoting.
Lenovo in the UAE. Lenovo-branded smart locks and cameras are made by Yunka Intelligent (Shenzhen) under licence as part of Lenovo's smart-device ecosystem, rather than by Lenovo's computer business. Most of the locks run on the Tuya / Smart Life app, while the cameras use the cam720 app. UAE availability is patchy: a few models are stocked by specialist smart-lock retailers and many are sourced to order, so we confirm the exact model, lock body and lead time before quoting.
