Overview

What it is and where it fits

The Veno Go is the least expensive way into palm vein entry, and it only suits a door that already has a standard single cylinder deadbolt. Hold your hand about 10cm from the reader and the door opens in roughly a fifth of a second, with nothing to touch and nothing to carry. Lockin sells it as a smart deadbolt rather than a full lock set, so the outside panel carries the palm reader, a keypad and a key cylinder, and the inside carries the thumb turn and the battery. There is no camera, no fingerprint pad and no card reader. That is the trade you make for the price. Fitment is the part to settle before anything else. Lockin's own compatibility chart asks for a door 35mm to 55mm thick, a 60mm or 70mm backset, a 38mm or 54mm crossbore and a rectangular latch plate. The same chart says plainly that the lock does not go onto a mortise lock or a rounded latch hole, and a European mortise with a lever handle is exactly what most Dubai apartment doors use. We measure before we order anything. Where it does fit, it earns its keep. Palm vein reading ignores sweat, fine sand and cracked skin, the three things that beat a fingerprint sensor here, and one rechargeable pack runs for about seven months. Wi-Fi is built in, so the app and Matter work without a bridge.

  • Palm vein reading works with sweaty, dusty or cracked hands, which is where a fingerprint sensor fails in Dubai.
  • One rechargeable pack runs about seven months, and a USB-C port takes a power bank if it is ever flat.
  • Wi-Fi and Matter are built in, so Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home and SmartThings all work with it.
  • Codes can be one time, timed by the hour or set to a weekly schedule for cleaners, guests and short lets.

What to check before you order

The door decides this one. Most Dubai apartment entrance doors and plenty of villa main doors carry a European mortise lock with a lever handle on both sides, and Lockin states in its own fitting chart that this lock does not go on a mortise. It suits a door that already has a separate round deadbolt above the handle, which turns up on villa side doors, garden rooms, staff entrances, holiday home flats and doors built to an American pattern. We check yours before ordering. In a tower the flat door is usually fire rated, and changing it can void that rating, so ask building management first. If you rent, get the landlord's approval in writing and keep the old deadbolt for the handover. Heat is the other factor. The outside panel is rated to 70C, which covers a shaded Dubai door, but a west facing door in direct July sun drains the battery faster, so plan on charging more often than seven months.

Lockin in the UAE. Sold through UAE smart home retail. Its palm-vein and finger-vein locks read blood-vessel patterns rather than a fingerprint surface, which is a class of lock most brands here do not offer.

Questions about the Lockin Veno Go Palm Vein Smart Lock

What is the Lockin Veno Go?
Chevron down icon
It is Lockin's entry palm vein lock, built as a smart deadbolt. The outside panel has a palm reader, a number keypad and a key cylinder. The inside has a thumb turn and a rechargeable battery. It replaces a round deadbolt and leaves your existing door handle alone.

How much does the Veno Go cost in Dubai?
Chevron down icon
Our supplied price is AED 659 for the lock itself. Fitting is quoted separately once we have seen the door, because a straight swap onto a prepared deadbolt hole takes far less work than a door that needs boring. We tell you both numbers before you commit.

Where can I buy the Veno Go in the UAE?
Chevron down icon
Not from the usual online shops. We checked amazon.ae and noon.com on 18 September 2026 and neither carries this model, even though both list other Lockin locks. We supply it directly and fit it, so there is one company to call if anything goes wrong.

Will the Veno Go fit my door?
Chevron down icon
Only if the door already has a round deadbolt separate from the handle. Lockin asks for a leaf 35mm to 55mm thick, a backset of 60mm or 70mm, a crossbore of 38mm or 54mm and a rectangular latch plate. Send us photos of the door edge and face and we will tell you.

Which doors will it not fit?
Chevron down icon
Lockin rules out two things outright: a mortise lock body and a rounded latch hole. That covers most Dubai apartment entrance doors, which use a European mortise with a lever handle. It also rules out glass doors, narrow aluminium frames and anything thinner than 35mm or thicker than 55mm.

Does it work on a Dubai apartment door?
Chevron down icon
Usually not without work. Apartment doors here are typically a European mortise set, and this lock is not made for that. A few apartments, mostly in older or American specification buildings, have a separate deadbolt above the handle, and those are fine. We confirm on site rather than guessing from the brochure.

Can I fit this in a rented flat or villa?
Chevron down icon
Ask the landlord first and get the answer in writing. Swapping a deadbolt is reversible, so it is an easier conversation than cutting a fresh mortise, and we keep the original cylinder boxed for the handover. Many Dubai buildings also want the entrance door left exactly as handed over.

Do I need a hub or a bridge?
Chevron down icon
Not for the Lockin app. Wi-Fi is built into the lock, so it talks to your router directly on 2.4GHz and you get remote locking and alerts straight away. A Matter controller in the home is only needed if you want the lock inside Apple Home or SmartThings.

Does the Veno Go work with Apple Home?
Chevron down icon
Yes, through Matter, and you need a Matter controller already in the home such as a HomePod or an Apple TV. One thing to expect: Apple blocks voice opening on locks as a policy, so Siri will lock the door for you but will not open it. The Lockin app still does.

What about Alexa and Google Home?
Chevron down icon
Both are supported over Matter, along with Samsung SmartThings. That matters in a mixed household where the family runs iPhones and the staff run Android, because nobody has to switch platforms. You can also tie the lock into routines, so opening the door turns on the hall light.

What happens during a DEWA power cut?
Chevron down icon
The lock keeps working. It runs on its own battery, so palm, keypad and the mechanical key all work normally. What stops is the Wi-Fi side, because your router is off, so remote opening and alerts pause until power returns. The lock logs everything and syncs when it reconnects.

How long does the battery really last in Dubai?
Chevron down icon
Lockin quotes up to seven months from one rechargeable pack. Expect less on a busy family door and less again on a west facing entrance that bakes all afternoon, because heat shortens any lithium cell. Plan on charging two or three times a year, and keep a spare pack if the door is the only way in.

Can it handle a 45 degree Dubai summer?
Chevron down icon
The outside panel is rated to 70C, well above air temperature here, so the electronics are fine. The part to think about is where the panel sits. Direct sun on a bare west facing door pushes surface temperature far higher than the air, so a porch, a canopy or any shade line helps the battery a lot.

Does the Veno Go have a camera?
Chevron down icon
No. There is no camera, no doorbell button and no video storage, and that is the main reason it costs what it does. If you want to see who is at the door, look at the Veno Plus with its 2K camera and 8GB of local storage, or the Veno Pro which adds radar detection and 32GB.

Does it read fingerprints or cards?
Chevron down icon
No to both. The Veno Go takes palm, PIN, app, mechanical key and voice, and that is the full list. The palm reader covers what a fingerprint sensor would do and copes better with wet or dusty hands, but if you specifically want a fingerprint pad or an NFC card, choose a different Lockin model.

How is it different from the Veno Plus?
Chevron down icon
The Veno Plus adds a 2K camera with a 180 degree view, two way audio, 8GB of local storage and a fingerprint reader. Its battery runs about three months against seven on the Veno Go. The Veno Go is the cheaper, simpler lock for a door where you do not need to see callers.

How is it different from the Veno Pro?
Chevron down icon
The Veno Pro is the top of the family: 2K camera, 32GB of storage, radar and infrared detection that separates people, parcels and cars, IP65 sealing and a Grade 2 rating. The Veno Go has none of that. It costs less than half as much and does one job, which is opening the door without you touching it.

How does it compare with the Lockin OLA Slim?
Chevron down icon
The OLA Slim is a push pull handle set with fingerprint, PIN and card, made for a different door preparation. The Veno Go is a deadbolt with palm reading instead. Pick by door first, not by feature list, because the two are not interchangeable on the same door.

How secure is palm vein reading?
Chevron down icon
It reads the vein pattern under the skin using infrared, so there is nothing left on a surface for anyone to lift, and Lockin quotes a false accept rate below 0.00001%. It is a consumer biometric rather than a bank vault, so we always set a PIN alongside it and keep the mechanical key somewhere sensible.

What stops someone guessing the code?
Chevron down icon
Two things. Anti peep entry lets you type random digits before or after your real code, up to 20 digits in total, so a neighbour watching learns nothing. Wrong try protection then locks the keypad after three, five, ten or fifteen bad attempts and pings your phone. Palm entry keeps working during that lockout.

Can I give the maid or the driver their own access?
Chevron down icon
Yes, and it is the reason most of our clients buy a lock like this. Each person gets their own palm profile or PIN, the log shows who opened the door and when, and a code can be paused rather than deleted if someone is away. Cleaners can have a weekly schedule instead of permanent access.

Can I set a code for a holiday home guest?
Chevron down icon
Yes. One time codes last an hour and die after first use, duration codes expire when the stay ends, and weekly codes run only in the hours you choose. Codes work even when the lock is offline, which matters in a building where the guest Wi-Fi is unreliable.

How long does fitting take and do you fit it?
Chevron down icon
We fit it. On a door that is already bored correctly the swap runs about thirty minutes including the app setup, palm enrolment and calibration. A door that needs new boring or a strike plate adjustment takes longer, and we tell you that in the quote rather than on the day.

What warranty and support do I get in the UAE?
Chevron down icon
Lockin has no showroom or service counter in the UAE, so warranty runs through us and the distributor rather than a shop you can walk into. We hold the paperwork, handle the claim and carry spare batteries. That is worth knowing before you put any Lockin lock on a main entrance.

Who should not buy the Veno Go?
Chevron down icon
Anyone whose door has a European mortise lock, anyone who wants a camera or a doorbell in the lock, anyone who needs fingerprint or card entry, and anyone in a tower flat whose fire rated door cannot be altered. Renters without written landlord approval should also wait.

What maintenance does it need?
Chevron down icon
Very little. Wipe the palm window with a dry cloth every few weeks, because fine sand settles on it and slows the read. Charge the battery when the lock warns you, which gives you about a week of grace. Keep firmware updates on, and test the mechanical key twice a year.
