Overview

What it is and where it fits

The Furbo 360° Dog Camera is an indoor Wi-Fi camera that turns to follow your dog, lets you talk to it, and tosses a treat when you tap your phone. It suits Dubai residents who leave a dog alone during long work days and want to check for barking or stress. This is the version that works without a subscription. Out of the box you get live 1080p video with a rotating 360° view, colour night vision, two-way audio, treat tossing and barking alerts, all in the free Furbo app. Furbo Nanny, the optional paid plan, adds the features many buyers expect by default. That includes AI alerts for dog activity and people, video history, a daily diary, and alerts when it hears a smoke or CO alarm. Without Nanny there are no recordings to look back on. The unit sits on a shelf or counter 60 to 120 cm above the floor, stuck down with its 3M pad, and runs from a 5.2V 2A USB supply. It needs 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and a broadband upload of about 2 Mbps. Treats should be round and about 1 cm across, and it holds around 100. It is not a security camera. It has no battery, so it goes offline in a power cut, and it is not built for balconies or outdoor use. Cat owners should look at the Furbo cat version instead.

  • Check on your dog from anywhere and turn the view around the room
  • Toss a treat or talk to your dog to calm it down
  • Barking alerts on your phone with no monthly fee
  • No drilling, it sits on a shelf with a sticky base

What to check before you order

The unit on Amazon.ae is sold by Furbo UK, and the listing includes a USB power adapter, so expect a UK three-pin plug that fits UAE sockets. If it arrives with a different plug, any good 5V 2A USB adapter works. Put it indoors on a shelf 60 to 120 cm high, with a clear view of where your dog spends the day. It has no battery, so a DEWA power cut or router restart takes it offline until power returns. Furbo gives no heat rating, so keep the AC running when your dog is home alone, which your dog needs anyway. Use dry treats and clean the treat bowl often, because Dubai humidity makes treats stick. UAE privacy law is strict about recording people, so tell your maid, nanny or driver there is a camera, and never point it into staff quarters or a bathroom. Tenants can use it freely, since nothing is fixed to the wall.

Furbo in the UAE. Pet-camera brand from Tomofun, best known for its treat-tossing dog cameras. In the UAE it is sold on Amazon.ae, shipped from Furbo's UK store, so delivery takes longer than local stock. Core camera features work without a subscription, and the optional Furbo Nanny plan adds AI alerts and video history.

Questions about the Furbo 360° Dog Camera (No Subscription Required version)

What is the Furbo 360° Dog Camera?
Chevron down icon
It is an indoor Wi-Fi pet camera that rotates to show the whole room, lets you talk to your dog, and tosses treats when you tap your phone. It also sends barking alerts. It is built around dogs rather than home security, so it sits low on a shelf with a treat hopper on top.

How much is the Furbo 360 in Dubai?
Chevron down icon
It was AED 587 on Amazon.ae when we checked, sold by Furbo UK and shipped from outside the UAE with import fees included. Other sellers asked AED 858 or more. A delivery charge may be added, and the optional Furbo Nanny plan is extra.

Does it need a subscription?
Chevron down icon
No. This version works without one. Live view, the 360° rotation, two-way audio, treat tossing, barking alerts and night vision are free. Furbo Nanny is optional and adds AI alerts, video history, a daily diary and smoke or CO alarm alerts.

What do I lose without Furbo Nanny?
Chevron down icon
You lose recordings and smart alerts. Without Nanny you can only watch live, so if your dog barks while you are in a meeting, you cannot scroll back to see why. Dog activity alerts, person alerts, the daily diary and home emergency alerts all need the paid plan.

How much does Furbo Nanny cost in the UAE?
Chevron down icon
Furbo shows Nanny pricing in the app and on its website for your region, with monthly and yearly plans, and first-time users get a free trial. We do not quote a dirham price because it is billed by Furbo, not by the retailer, and offers change often.

Will the plug work in UAE sockets?
Chevron down icon
The Amazon.ae unit is sold by Furbo UK and the listing includes a USB power adapter, so it should arrive with a UK three-pin plug, the same type as UAE sockets. The camera itself runs on 5.2V 2A over USB-C, so any good-quality 5V 2A USB adapter also works.

Where should I place it?
Chevron down icon
Furbo recommends 60 to 120 cm above the floor, on a stable shelf or counter, facing the area where your dog spends most time. Use the 3M pad on the base so a big dog cannot knock it off. Keep it near a socket and within strong Wi-Fi range.

Can it go on a balcony or outdoors?
Chevron down icon
No. It is an indoor camera with no weather rating, and a hot Dubai balcony would damage it and spoil the treats. If your dog uses a balcony or garden, put the Furbo inside facing the door, or add a proper outdoor camera for that area.

What Wi-Fi and internet does it need?
Chevron down icon
It needs 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Furbo recommends about 2 Mbps of upload speed. It also uses Bluetooth on your phone during setup. Most home fibre plans in Dubai easily cover that, but a weak signal in a far bedroom will make the video freeze.

What happens in a power cut or when the internet drops?
Chevron down icon
It has no battery, so it switches off in a power cut and cannot reach your phone when the internet is down. It reconnects on its own when power and Wi-Fi return. If this worries you, a small UPS on the router and the camera keeps both running for a while.

Does it work with Alexa or Apple Home?
Chevron down icon
Furbo lists Alexa and Apple Watch compatibility. It does not support Apple Home or Matter. Alexa skills can be limited by region, so we check it works on your Amazon account during setup. Everything else runs in the Furbo app.

Does it record video to a memory card?
Chevron down icon
Furbo does not list any memory card or local storage for this camera. Saved clips and video history come with the Furbo Nanny plan. Without Nanny you can take screenshots and watch live, but you cannot review what happened earlier.

What treats can I put in it?
Chevron down icon
Round, dry treats about 1 cm across work best, and it holds around 100. Soft or oily treats jam the launcher, especially in humid Dubai weather. You can adjust the toss in the app, and it is worth cleaning the treat bowl every week or two.

Can my dog knock it over or break it?
Chevron down icon
Furbo says it is designed for dogs of all sizes and adds a strong 3M double-sided pad to the base. Place it out of easy reach of a jumping dog, and keep the cable tucked away so a puppy cannot chew it.

Is it safe to have a camera watching my home?
Chevron down icon
Furbo says it uses bank-level encryption and supports two-step verification on your account. Turn that on, use a strong password and only share access with family. Remember that anyone with the login can watch and listen live.

Can I use it with a maid or nanny at home?
Chevron down icon
Yes, but be open about it. UAE privacy law is strict about recording people, so tell staff there is a camera and what it covers. Keep it in shared living areas, never in staff rooms or bathrooms, and do not use the two-way audio to monitor people instead of pets.

Can a tenant install it?
Chevron down icon
Yes. There is no drilling or wiring. It sits on a shelf, sticks down with its pad and plugs into a normal socket, so there is nothing for a landlord to approve and you take it with you when you move.

Do you install it?
Chevron down icon
Most people set it up themselves in about 15 minutes. We set it up as part of a wider smart home visit, where we check Wi-Fi coverage in the room, pick the right shelf height and link it to Alexa if you use it.

What warranty applies in the UAE?
Chevron down icon
Furbo's UK site lists a 2 year warranty on purchases, while its FAQ also mentions a 1 year parts warranty, so check your invoice. This unit is sold by Furbo UK and shipped from abroad, so claims go through Furbo UK support or Amazon. Furbo has no UAE service centre that we know of.

How does it compare with a normal pan-tilt home camera?
Chevron down icon
A basic pan-tilt camera costs much less and often records to a memory card, but it cannot toss treats and has no barking alerts tuned for dogs. The Furbo is better if you want to interact with your dog. A general camera is better if you mainly want cheap recordings.

Should I get the Furbo 360 or a camera feeder like the Petlibro Granary?
Chevron down icon
They do different jobs. The Furbo tosses the odd treat and lets you watch and talk, but it does not feed meals. A camera feeder such as the Petlibro Granary dispenses scheduled meals with a camera attached. If your dog needs lunch while you work, choose the feeder.

Does it help with separation anxiety?
Chevron down icon
It can help you spot it, through barking alerts and live view, and a voice or treat can settle some dogs. It does not fix the cause. For a dog that howls or damages things, talk to a trainer or vet as well, and use the camera to see what triggers the behaviour.

Is it good for cats?
Chevron down icon
It works, but it is built and tuned for dogs. Furbo sells a separate 360° Cat Camera with a feather toy and cat-focused features, which is the better choice for cat owners. The dog version's treat toss can also send treats further than a cat will chase.

Who should not buy the Furbo 360?
Chevron down icon
Skip it if you want free video recording, outdoor coverage, a battery backup, or a home security camera. Cat owners should get the cat version. If you are not willing to pay for Furbo Nanny later, be sure live view and barking alerts alone are enough for you.
