The PetSafe 2-Piece Sliding Glass Pet Door is a tall aluminium and glass panel with a pet flap at the bottom that stands in the track of a sliding door. It suits Dubai renters with a cat or small dog who are not allowed to cut a door or wall. There is nothing electronic in it. No app, no microchip reader and no power. You open the slider, stand the two panels in the track against the frame, set them to your door height, then close the sliding door against the panel. The flap is vinyl with a magnetic strip, and a slide-in closing panel shuts it when you want your pet kept inside. A latch kit locks the sliding door to the panel, because the door's own lock can no longer reach its keeper. The size in stock in the UAE when we checked was the Small, with a flap of about 13 x 21 cm for pets up to about 7 kg. It fits openings from about 193 to 205 cm tall, measured from inside the top track to inside the bottom track. Plenty of Dubai sliders are taller than that, and a recessed track needs an extra PetSafe kit. The panel also takes about 21 cm off your walkway and adds another gap where cool air and fine dust can get through. If you want a door that only opens for your own pet, choose a microchip door instead. This one lets any animal that fits walk through.

Measure before you order. The panel only fits openings of about 193 to 205 cm between the inside of the top and bottom tracks, and many Dubai towers and newer villas have taller sliders. Recessed or lift-and-slide tracks need PetSafe's separate kit, or may not work at all. On a high-floor apartment balcony, think hard about a cat getting out alone, and check building management rules, since the panel shows from outside. The flap and extra seals let some cooled air and fine sand in, so expect a little more dust on windy days. A west-facing glass door gets very hot, and PetSafe gives no heat rating for the vinyl flap, so check it each summer for stiffness or warping. In villa communities, stray cats can use the flap too. Tenants usually like it because nothing is cut, but skip the optional screws if you want the deposit back untouched.
