The H2 is Aqara's current generation wall switch and the sensible default in a villa or a newer apartment where the box has a neutral. It replaces the existing plate, keeps a real rocker for anyone who does not want to use a phone, and joins the house on Zigbee through an Aqara hub. What has moved on from the earlier generations is responsiveness and the scene handling: a long press on a gang runs a whole room rather than the single circuit under that rocker, which is how most households end up using it once the novelty of app control wears off. Each gang is a separate device in Apple Home, Alexa or Google, so a two rocker bedroom plate becomes the ceiling light and the balcony light under independent control and independent schedules. The wiring requirement is the thing that decides whether you can have it. It needs a live, a switched live and a neutral at the box, and in an older Dubai flat with two wires it cannot be fitted, no matter which variant you order. Confirm the neutral, then match the gang count to the plate you are taking off.

Fits the UK wall boxes used in Dubai villas and apartments, so it goes into the existing aperture without builder's work. It needs a neutral, which recent towers and villas have and older apartment stock often does not. Check before ordering more than one: we normally fit a single switch on a single circuit, confirm it behaves, and only then order the rest of the property. In a villa with high switch counts the Zigbee mesh is the reason to choose this over a Wi-Fi switch, because twenty Wi-Fi clients on a consumer router is the configuration that causes trouble a year later.
