Size it by what you need to run, not by the headline number. A 1kWh unit like the EcoFlow DELTA 2 covers a router, laptops and a fridge through an outage. Desert camping wants a solar panel with it.
What we specify most often, and the case each one is right for.

Best panel to pair for campingEcoFlow 160W Portable Solar PanelThe folding panel that turns an EcoFlow station into something that survives a multi-day trip.AED 1,599A portable power station is a battery, an inverter and a set of sockets in one box. Unlike everything else in this catalogue it needs no installation, no wiring and no application to anyone, which is why it is the one energy product a tenant can buy on a Tuesday and use on a Wednesday. Two uses dominate here. The first is keeping the essentials alive during a building power cut: the router, phones, laptops, a fan, and a fridge for a few hours. The second is desert camping and outdoor events, where a unit paired with a folding solar panel runs lights, a cooler and cameras for a weekend without a generator. The specification that actually matters is not the capacity printed on the front, it is whether the continuous output in watts is high enough for the thing you want to plug in. A large battery with a small inverter will refuse to run a kettle no matter how many hours of charge it holds.

Start from the load, not the capacity. Two numbers govern this: continuous output in watts decides what you can run at all, and capacity in watt hours decides how long. A router, a laptop and phone charging draw very little and will last most of a day on a 1kWh unit. A fridge is intermittent and manageable. A kettle, a microwave, an iron or anything with a heating element draws well over a thousand watts and needs a unit rated for it. Add up what you actually intend to plug in before looking at prices.
Then check the chemistry. LiFePO4 cells are rated for several thousand charge cycles against a few hundred for older lithium chemistries, and they hold up better in heat, which is the relevant difference in this climate. Nearly everything worth buying now uses LiFePO4, but the cheapest units still do not, and that is where the price gap usually comes from.
Think about how it gets charged back up. Wall charging is fastest and fine for outage backup, where the unit sits topped up waiting for a power cut. For camping or anywhere off-grid you want a folding solar panel matched to the unit's input rating, and the pairing matters: a panel that exceeds the input just wastes the extra.
One practical caution specific to the UAE. These are sold in region-specific socket configurations and the listings rarely state which one they stock. A unit whose AC outlets are not Type-G is far less useful here, so confirm the outlet configuration before ordering. We check that as part of quoting rather than leaving you to discover it when the box arrives.
