Overview

What it is and where it fits

A high-voltage LiFePO4 tower with 7.68kWh usable capacity, and a product to specify only when your inverter is high voltage and you have accepted a European lead time. Both conditions are real and both narrow it considerably against a Pylontech rack bank. The HVS line spans 5.1 to 12.8kWh across module counts, and it works with a good range of third-party hybrid inverters including Victron, Sungrow, GoodWe and SMA. High-voltage architecture has genuine advantages: lower current for the same power means thinner DC cabling and slightly lower conversion losses, which is why it dominates larger installations. The cost is flexibility. A high-voltage stack ties you to inverters that support that voltage class and that specific battery, where a 48V Pylontech bank works with nearly everything sold here. The UAE supply position is the practical issue. The distributor carrying this line prices in euros rather than dirhams, and its UAE warehouse for the product is described as still under construction, so most BYD stock ships from Europe with the transport time and cost that implies. Treat it as special order rather than shelf stock, and plan the project timeline accordingly.

  • High-voltage architecture reduces DC current and cabling size
  • Stacks from 5.1kWh to 12.8kWh within the same tower
  • Works with several third-party high-voltage hybrid inverters
  • LiFePO4 chemistry, the appropriate cell type for a hot climate

What to check before you order

Two things to settle before this battery goes into a Dubai specification. First, voltage architecture. This is a high-voltage stack, so it will not pair with the 48V low-voltage inverters that dominate the UAE residential market, and the battery decision has to be made alongside the inverter rather than after it. Low-voltage 48V with Pylontech modules remains the more common and more flexible choice for a villa here. Second, availability. The distributor carrying this line prices in euros rather than dirhams and describes its UAE warehouse for the product as still under construction, so stock generally moves from Europe with real transport time and cost attached. That makes it a special-order item, which is fine on a planned villa build and a poor fit for a retrofit anyone wants finished this month. We publish no AED figure because there is no native AED listing to publish, and converting a euro price would present a number no UAE seller has quoted. Battery storage on a backup or off-grid system involves no DEWA process.

BYD in the UAE. Battery-Box is listed by UAE solar retailers, but stock ships from Europe while local warehousing is still being set up, so treat it as special order.

Questions about the BYD Battery-Box Premium HVS 7.7 (7.68kWh)

Why would I choose high voltage over a 48V bank?
Chevron down icon
Lower current for the same power, which means thinner DC cabling, shorter runs of expensive copper and marginally better conversion efficiency. It becomes the sensible architecture as systems get larger. For a typical Dubai villa in the 10 to 20kWh range, a 48V Pylontech bank is usually the better balance of cost and flexibility.

How long will delivery take?
Chevron down icon
Longer than a locally stocked battery, because most UAE supply of this line ships from Europe. Treat it as a special order and build the lead time into the project programme. If the timeline is tight, a Pylontech bank held in Dubai stock will be installed and running before this one has cleared customs.

Why is no price listed?
Chevron down icon
Because the storefront carrying it prices in euros. Converting that to dirhams would produce a figure no UAE seller has actually quoted, and every price on this site has to be one you could be charged here. We quote it as part of a system after confirming current landed cost and lead time.
